In-cosmetics: 3 innovation awards and new active ingredients

The in-cosmetics Global from 5 to 7 April in Paris was a great success for Mibelle Biochemistry. The company won three innovation awards and presented its latest active ingredients SLVR'Coffee™ and NovoRetin™.

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the in-cosmetics Global trade fair was finally able to take place again and there was great pleasure in physically meeting customers and professional colleagues once more. The attractive Mibelle Biochemistry booth, which was all about 'Coffee' - the source of our new upcycled active ingredient SLVR'Coffee™ from coffee silver skin - was very well booked.

SLVR'Coffee™

SLVR'Coffee™ is based on the upcycling of coffee silverskin and provides moisture and comfort to dry skin.

Coffee silverskin is the innermost layer of the coffee cherry that coats the coffee beans. As coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world, 200-400 million kilograms of coffee silver skin is produced annually as a waste product from the roasting process.

By upcycling coffee silverskin into the high-quality active ingredient SLVR'Coffee™, Mibelle Biochemistry is contributing to the Circular Economy. Based on a biomimetic concept for skin hydration, SLVR'Coffee™ protects the epidermis from internal and external stressors as well as transepidermal water loss, resulting in improved skin hydration. Therefore, SLVR'Coffee™ improves the overall comfort of sensitive skin.

NovoRetin™

NovoRetin™ is a stable and safe alternative to plant-based retinol.

The active ingredient is based on mastic, an aromatic resin extracted from the bark of a tree that grows only on the Greek island of Chios. NovoRetin™ is able to increase the amount of naturally occurring retinoic acid in the skin, resulting in retinol-like effects without the need for retinoids to be applied topically to the skin.

As a unique all-in-one product, it increases skin density and elasticity, reduces pore size and wrinkles, refines skin texture and provides a smooth and matte finish.
