Solar power in Buchs and Frenkendorf

The Mibelle Group has put a new photovoltaic system into operation at its two sites in Buchs and Frenkendorf. The company is thus becoming an electricity producer itself and taking a further step in the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energies.

Unused roofs in Buchs and Frenkendorf are becoming a source of solar power. The Mibelle Group has put a new photovoltaic system into operation at both sites, which produces electricity on 4800 m2 of roof space. Together, the two systems with an output of 1072 kWP produce around 796,000 kWh of electricity per year. This is used entirely for the company's own needs.

Solar power is sustainable and attractively priced. The PV systems allow greater independence from traditional energy suppliers. "With solar power, we can not only cut our energy costs, but also reduce our carbon footprint. We are currently examining whether we can use additional roof and façade surfaces at our locations for solar power in the future," says Claudia Regenass, Head of Sustainability at the Mibelle Group.

Photovoltaic systems are becoming increasingly efficient and offer many advantages. With solar power, the Mibelle Group can sustainably reduce energy costs, reduce its CO2 footprint and achieve greater planning security.
